John is CEO of Engineers Without Borders UK, a community of changemakers with a passion for global responsibility in engineering. EWB UK focuses on influencing systemic change. It launched a Competency Compass for practitioners in June 2023 and a Reimagined Degree Map for educators in March 2024. John was previously Executive Director of the International Geosynthetics Society and Director External Affairs at RICS, where he established the World Built Environment Forum. John’s earlier career was as a UK government official, serving overseas.
