Panel: Breaking barriers and building futures for women in manufacturing
Current statistics show that women represent only 26% of the workforce in manufacturing. With the skills shortage growing in the sector, can we afford to do nothing to attract more women into the sector?
In this session, we will hear about factors that affect women’s participation in manufacturing. Panelists will share their perceptions of what the sector can do and how organisations can make changes to encourage a more diverse workforce.
This session is hosted by the Women in Manufacturing UK initiative which was established by a network of academics, practitioners and professionals working in the field of manufacturing with a shared interest in raising the profile of women in the sector.
