Six top reasons to attend Maintec 2019

Maintec is somewhat an outlier in the world of engineering exhibitions in the UK. As the longest-standing event dedicated to the maintenance industry, which this year will be celebrating 44 years, it has stood the test of time – evolving and adapting to the changing profession and becoming the only annual event of its kind.

Here are six reasons why this year’s Maintec is an event you can't afford to miss:

  1. Global suppliers and manufacturers all under one roof

Jos Diamond, Event and Business Development Manager at Maintec comments: “Despite the ongoing political challenges facing the UK, we are thrilled to have seen a significant increase in international companies taking part in Maintec 2019. For us, this is a very positive sign for the future of the maintenance industry in the UK moving forward.”

Global businesses including Petro-Canada Lubricants, Noria Corporation, Valuekeep Lda, MENZEL, SDT International and Mobility Work are just some of the organisations who will be exhibiting at the show when it returns to The NEC, Birmingham on the 30 – 31 October 2019.

  1. Exclusive product launches live on the show floor

More than a fifth of exhibitors used the Maintec as a platform to launch their new technologies and services for the first time in the UK in 2018. While many exhibitors are still keeping the details of their launches for this year close to their chest, they are promising to bring their very latest products, equipment and software to the event, allowing visitors to see and experience the cutting-edge technology live and exclusively on the show floor.

  1. Session from top professional institution Cranfield University

A balance needs to be struck between meeting production targets and minimising breakdowns. This deep dive case study looks at a petroleum transportation and storage facility in the Eastern Niger Delta area of Nigeria. Your guide is Dr Bassey Bassey, who studies Energy and Power at Cranfield University.

  1. All new exhibiting companies

A whole host of new companies have confirmed they’ll be attending Maintec this year, including LOCTITE, Jackson Lift Services, The Safety Knife Company, Oilaway, 3Di, Lee Spring, Quantum Controls and leader in thermal imaging software, Fluke.

  1. Digitalisation at the fore

A company’s digital transformation journey can start small to address a single issue, such as pump health or personnel safety and build from there. Or it can explore company-wide programmes across a full impact area, such as reliability. Don’t miss keynote sessions Merging IT (information technology) and OT (operational technology) to maximise the potential of digitalisation with Martin Walder and Accelerating the Digitalisation Journey with Operational Certainty with Gary Ingram who will explore the impact of digitalisation on the maintenance and reliability functions.

  1. Insights into active maintenance projects

Our seminar programme features insights into active maintenance projects that are currently being undertaken in the UK today. Sessions are focused on a wide range of industries and show how maintenance teams and suppliers are working together to improve reliability in their organisations.

….and so much more.
